After losing her father and having to run for not being aprehended for practicing Catholicism, Katherine Arundell decides to occupy her father’s place in a plot to kill queen Elizabeth.
The queen, on the other hand, has a lot of spies among which is Toby, a young man who will meet Katherine or Kit (this is the name she adopts as a plotter and a boy) trying to reveal the next assassination attempt against the queen.
This story has characters that really existed in the times of queen Elizabeth and other that are fiction characters as Toby and Katherine. Some facts are true, the way of living, the politics and the forbidden things, so the story has many historical information. Also, it has a good dose of romance and intrigue.
I liked Shakespeare being a character and presenting one of his plays.
I enjoyed reading this book.
