This novel is part of the invincible Ben Hope’s series.
Harry Paxton, the man who saved Ben’s life a few years ago, asks Ben to investigate and avenge his son, Morgan Paxton. He was murdered while he was doing a search in Egypt.
Morgan was searching a treasure hidden by the high priest Wenkaura, during Akenatón’s, the heretic pharaoh, reign.
Ben accepts this task because he feels in debt with Harry. And he falls in love with Harry’s new wife, Zara Paxton.
This task will lead Ben to face Kamal, a terrorist who wants to find the heretic’s treasure, to discover that one thing he was sure of didn’t happen the way he thought and to search this treasure to help his new love.
I was very interested in the Ancient Egypt’s history and the fact that the pharaoh Akenatón was the first to establish a monotheistic religion. I know that some facts were invented by the author, but I’m talking about the real ones.
I enjoyed the competition for the treasure between Ben and Kamal. Both received help from people who knew about Ancient Egypt, Pierre Claudel and Doctor Lawrence Kirby, I didn’t like neither of them.
In my opinion, this is an easy book to read, very enjoyable and with interesting parts.
