M. J. Rose – The Book of Lost Fragances.

07/02/2021 By paucoes Leave a Comment

Jac L’Etoile comes from a famous family of french perfumers. She works and lives at EEUU and her brother, Robbie, is the one in charge of the family bussiness.

One day she receives a call from a french detective who informs her of her brother’s disappearance. She travels to France where this exciting story takes place. It seems that Robbie found an ancient perfume which helps people to remember past lives and that puts in danger his family and friends.

Besides, Jac had seen other people’s memories (perhaps her past lives) since ever. These memories used to be under control but at France they get out of control.

L’Etoile’s story intertwines with the story of Xie Ping, an art student at China who has a complicated past and a great purpose in life.

At the end of the book we can find a glossary and a section that talks about the author’s investigation. It has some pictures too.

I liked a lot this book because I’ve always liked Egypt and all ancient stuff. Besides, thinking that a perfume as the one in the book could exist is very exciting.

The historic part of the book is very illustrative. I think that the author made a great job with her investigation.

Also, I liked Jac’s job, researching about the origins of myths and legends sounds very interesting. I would like to do that.

At last, I want to say that the end was touching.

I recommend a lot this book. I’ll add it to my favorites.
