This is the second part of the adventures of Audrey Rose and Thomas. This time the story takes place in Romania, in Bran Castle, which, for the story, is a science and forensic medicine school.
Bran Castle is known as Dracula’s Castle, so our characters will have to face bloodless corpses, impalements, bats, wolves, secret dungeons with traps, poisonings and superstitions related to vampires. Together, they must use all their intelligence, bravery and Thomas’ great deductions to capture the killer (or killers) who sometimes kills as a vampire and other times kills as a vampire hunter.
Besides, they must try to earn their place as students in that prestigious academy.
I enjoyed more this book than the first one. I liked more the story and the flirting was very amusing. I think that Thomas and Audrey Rose are a lovely couple and strong characters.
While I was reading I remembered my travel to Romania and visiting Brasov and Bran Castle. I think it’s a beautiful country perfect for this type of stories.
Back to the book, Director Moldoveanu seemed to me a dark character and I wouldn’t like to have him as a teacher. I thought that Daciana and Ileana were interesting characters and I would like to read more about them. Also, I would have liked to read more about the Order of the Dragon.
I don’t know yet when I’m going to read the other books of the series. I need to finish some of my “to be read” books and then I’ll continue this series, because it’s an exciting and amusing series that talks about a topic that had always interested me, forensic medicine.
I recommend this book.
