This book is part of a series about “The Cemetery of Forgotten Books” that includes: The Angel’s Game, The Shadow of the Wind and The Prisoner of Heaven. I haven’t read The Angel’s Game, but I’m going to read it and I’ll post my opinion.
Daniel Sempere is taken by his father to a place called “The Cemetery of Forgotten Books”. There he takes a book named “The Shadow of the Wind”, written by Julián Carax. This book and his author hide a mystery because all the other books written by him had been burnt, supposedly, by one of his characters named Laín Cubert. Daniel begins a search for the author and for the reason of the burning of his books. He will have to face this dangerous character.
He won’t be alone, Fermín Romero de Torres will be helping him and they’ll become bestfriends. Fermín has a very peculiar way to say everything. Daniel will meet his love, Bea, and he’ll marry her after defeating Laín. Also, he will meet Clara Barceló, a blind woman whose family will be important in the story.
The Shadow of the Wind keeps your attention because you want to know the truth about Julián Carax and his books, and because you want to discover who’s this character.
I loved the Cemetery of Forgotten Books and the love Daniel had for this place. Also, I loved Daniel’s bravery, perseverance and will.
It’s a book that I enjoyed so much and it’s part of my favorite books.
