Frey, Runa, Juniper and Ovie are a group of Boneless Mercies tired of being what they are. Tired of killing persons who can’t defend themselves.
Trigve is a young man part of the group but he isn’t a Mercy.
Trying to change their lives they decide to kill the Monster of Blue Vee. This will lead them to an adventure in which they’ll meet Witches (good and bad ones), giants and wolves. Also they’ll learn more about themselves and the others and they’ll fight for their lives.
I had great expectations before reading this book and I must say that I enjoyed it very much though it didn’t become part of my favorites.
I didn’t like the Mercies job. I would have wanted to change my life too if I were a Mercy.
On the other hand, I liked the loyalty and trust between them. And that they were very brave too.
I didn’t expect an event near the end and, honestly, I didn’t like it.
I think that the next book will be very interesting because the story caught my attention and because it has a lot of potential. I also liked the reference to the Nordic cultures.
I recommend this book.
