Doctor John Montague investigates paranormal phenomena as a scientist. He decides to stay a few days in a mansion called Hill House where a lot of phenomena take place. He invites some sensitive people and one member of the mansion owner’s family to accompany him during the investigation.
His companions names are Eleanor, Theodora and Luke.
Eleanor is shy, imaginative and she wants to experience different things. Theodora is cheerful and she wants to be the center of everyone’s attention. And Luke is selfish and he’s the family member.
This book talks a lot of all the characters psyche, the main character is Eleanor, she’s the most perceptive one. The book also talks of how living in the house affects their psyche, driving one of them crazy.
Sometimes I felt that despite being together, each one of them was in his/her own world. I consider this book interesting.
I liked the phrase “Journeys end in lovers meeting”. Eleanor used it a lot.
