Scott Mariani has written more books where Ben Hope is the main character. I’ll talk only of this one.
Ben Hope was an elite member of the Royal Air Force. He’s retired and he works finding kidnaped children. He began this work after a family tragedy, you’ll read about this tragedy in the book.
He’s hired by a rich man to find an antique manuscript, written by Fulcanelli, where the formula of the elixir of eternal life is written. Supposedly, this man wants to use it to help one girl of his family. This old man won’t be the only person interested in the manuscript, there will be other characters like a hired killer who will be an obstacle for Ben Hope and will try everything with the purpose of acquiring Fulcanelli’s manuscript.
I enjoyed a lot reading this book because it’s a great story and it has many action, intrigue, ambition, strategizing and manipulation. Oh! It also has love. The Dr. Roberta Ryder is a very important character and she’ll become special for Ben.
I like that it talks about an ancient and alchemical manuscript, this makes the book more interesting and exciting.
In my opinion, this book is really good and I think that if you read it, you’ll be pleased. This is another of my favorite books.
