The book’s titles are: 1-The Circle, 2-Fire and 3-The Key.
Engelfors is a swedish town. It’s an ideal place for magic because there’s the last portal by which the demons could enter to our world and control it. The Chosen One has the duty of closing the portal and stoping the apocalypse.
One night, there’s a red moon that only a few can see. Minoo Falk Karimi is one of the people who can see it and she’s guided by an invisible force to Kärrgruvan, an oddly forgotten place. There, she meets Nicolaus Elingius, her school’s janitor, who tells her that she’s the Chosen One and that he will be her guide. They get surprised when they see other five girls coming: Anna-Karin Nieminen, Linnéa Wallin, Vanessa Dahl, Rebecka Mohlin and Ida Holmström. All of them are the Chosen Ones and they form The Circle.
For closing the portal, these girls must find the way to work as a team despite all their differences and they must keep secret that they’re witches. They’ll fight against enemies blessed by the demons and against their inner demons.
I liked that all the characters were described in a very natural and realistic way. They were completely human, I mean that they had strong feelings and thoughts, they had good and bad moments and their personalities were perfectly described. All of them were self-conscious in a way and they had to evolve as a person and to find their path. I think that the writers of countries as Sweden, Norway, Netherlands, Iceland, among others are very interested in having characters with strong and deep personalities. I like this very much.
Well, on the other hand, I thought that the first and second books were sometimes boring and slow; for me they were a big introduction for the third book. I liked the third book, it was exciting and I think the end allows the story to be continued. We’ll see… The third book is a good one and I enjoyed reading it.
In conclusion, I liked the analysis of all the character’s personalities and The Key.
