Ben Coffin loves books and sci-fi, he’s 12 years old, he doesn’t have many friends and he lives with his adoptive mother Tess.
One day, a little dog decides to follow him from the library. This will be the beginning of a great friendship. Flip will be the name of the dog.
Thanks to Flip and the librarian, he meets Halley, a beautiful, intelligent, cheerful girl who loves to read and write. Together they’ll live a lot of memorable moments. Sadly, she’s fighting against one of the most horrible diseases, cancer.
I think this book is very emotive.
I confess that Halley’s fight made me cry. She was such a strong and tender girl. I’m sure Ben learned a lot of things from her.
I liked that Flip was a therapeutic dog and that he was very obedient. I’m sure that dogs are one of the most loyal, good companions and beautiful creatures in the world. I love dogs.
I got upset when Leo kicked him. Those inhuman attitudes bother me a lot. I think that believing that we are superior to everything is a bad thing. We must be humble.
Ben had a lovely heart. Despite having lived in a lot of places or experienced many sad moments, he was good with other people and he wanted to have a good future.
I recommend this book and I add it to my favorites list.
