I think I’ll read more of Naomi’s books.
Agnieszka lives in Dvernik, one of the Dragon Valley’s towns. The Dragon is a very powerful wizard who, every ten years, takes with him one girl and that girl never returns home. However, the Dragon isn’t a terrible person, he protects the Valley from the Forest’s evil influence and all its creatures. Without him, the Forest’s rottenness would spread.
Everyone is sure that the Dragon will choose to take Nieshka’s bestfriend, Kasia, because she’s beautiful and she has a lot of qualities, but he surprises everyone with his decision and takes Nieshka with him. And this is how, Agnieszka’s power will grow under the Dragon’s guardianship and she’ll live a great adventure. I must mention that Sarkan, the Dragon, is very unfriendly at the beginning.
The Forest is a terrible threat to Polnya and Rosya, the realms surrounding it. The origin of its corruption and the way to kill it are unknown to everyone, until Agnieszka begins to grow more powerful.
On the other hand, the rulers of each realm have their own ambitions. The Prince Marek of Polnya wants to be known as a hero after rescuing his mother from the Forest after twenty years of captivity, and he wants the throne, but his older brother is the throne’s heir.
Well, this is a great story! Everything is important, there’s not even a moment in which the reader’s attention is lost.
I loved Nieshka’s originality and her capacity of getting dirty, it was funny. She’s also very loyal. Despite both’s envy, she never left Kasia and they continued to be a great team. Also, she was loyal to Sarkan. I liked the way in which their magic joined and became more powerful.
I had great moments reading this book. It’s excellent and I must add it to my favorites list. You must read it!
