This time Gurney got involved in the case because the journalist that made him famous asked him to help her daughter, Kim, with a documentary about the families of the victims of the “Good Shepherd”, a criminal that was, never, caught.
His passion and obession for resolving crimes will encourage Dave to discover who the “Good Shepherd” is. Despite of what he lived in the previous novel, he will search for this serial killer. He’ll not be the only one in danger, Kim will have to be protected.
Let the Devil Sleep is an intense novel. It has a lot of suspense and it caught my attention from the first page.
The killer is the devil, he’s very clever and difficult to catch. The killers that John Verdon makes us imagine are, always, different and they have perfectly well made profiles.
I love the way Gurney sees things and how he, always, catches the killers despite of everything.
This novel is part of my favorites list.
