Fanny Price is adopted by the Bertram, her mother’s sister and her husband, and taken to live at Mansfield Park, where she will learn to be a nice and sensible lady (never considered to be at her cousin’s level).
Edmund, one of her cousins, is the nicest to her and little by little they create a strong bond.
This book’s about all the inhabitants of Mansfield Park and their friends the Crawford, but Fanny is the main character.
In my opinion, this book could be shorter and less slow so the end doesn’t seem to come abruptly.
There are very unpleasant characters: Aunt Norris always wanting to control everything and giving herself more importance than she had, Maria Bertram so selfish and tantrum, and the Crawford who were superficial, interested and vain. This characters were the worst but I must say that in general I didn’t like the characters.
The end was expected and I was glad with Susan’s destiny. She’s Fanny’s sister.
“Pride and Prejudice” continues to be my favorite book of Jane Austen.
