This book is one of Kurt Wallander’s mysteries, but I’m not going to read more of these books because the character didn’t catch my attention, so I put the author in the category of individual novels. Nevertheless, I’ve read opinions of people who enjoyed all the series’ books.
After the trauma of killing someone, Wallander has taken a lot of time to recover, he’s even thinking in retirement, but his friend the lawyer Sten Torstenson is shot in his office.
Not so long before, Sten went to visit him to ask for help with the supposed car accident in which his father, also a lawyer, Gustaf Torstenson died. Wallander refused to help him.
Wallander will have to discover the killer of both lawyers and why they were killed.
In my opinion, they took a lot of time investigating. Everytime Wallander made an interrogation, he didn’t know what to ask or he asked questions that led to nowhere. Besides, there were a team investigating but the only ones who made progress were Ann-Britt Höglund or him. I didn’t like the way in which the case was solved.
