This trilogy is about vampires. But they’re not sensual vampires! They’re horrible, evil, they have a stinger as tongue, they’re heartless and their only interest is to drink human blood.
After the arrival of a plane, full of corpses, in the JFK International Airport, a virus spreads into the world turning humans into vampires. Few humans are still human and they will have to survive. Dr. Ephraim Goodweather is a specialist that works for the CDC, he will be the main character and he will have to find the way to defeat the vampires and their leader called “The Master”. Dr. Goodweather isn’t alone, he will receive help from Dr. Nora Martínez, proffesor Abraham Setrakian and Vasiliy Fet.
I think that the reality and the fiction are perfectly combined in this series. Despite there are vampires, they’re not made by magic, they come from a viral spread. The human characters are only humans, without special powers and motivated by different reasons. The humans are enslaved, exactly as in a real conquest. And, in this case, the human’s blood is the food for vampires, so they make breeding places and slaughter houses.
This is an intelligent and recommendable trilogy.
