Eliza Mirk is the anonymous creator of a very successful comic that she posts every week on Internet. In the comic’s web she’s way more sociable than in life. Away from the web she’s timid and feels uncomfortable with people, even her family.
One day, a new guy arrives at school. He’s not as his appearance shows so he’ll surprise Eliza and help her through the adolescence.
I liked that one topic of the book was fandom, authors and the huge responsibility of being the creator of a successful work. Also that it showed how someone could be different in the web and out of it. And that everyone, including great authors, could have a crisis. They could even stop enjoying their own writing or drawing.
Sometimes I thought that Eliza could have been more open with her family. Her parents were interested in her but she was always pushing them away. Anyway, everyone says that adolescence is very difficult and that bad decisions are made in this stage.
Well, returning ro the book, I think it’s lovely, of agile reading and a good story. Besides it has some illustrations of Eliza’s comic (it looks very interesting).
I hope you can read this book.
