Second book in the trilogy.
After the terrible first wave of spiders, the humanity has considerably decreased, there are revolts around the world and some cities are considered lost. In the meantime, the governments and their scientists analyze the egg sacs and destroy using fire, some, but not enough of them. There are so many places infested with egg sacs. They have different temperature and texture. Also, in some places, there is a giant egg sac that pulses and glows.
It’s not known why the spiders behave the way they behave, what do they want, if they are all the same or they have differences. It’s not known how to stop them.
There’s no time to lose, at anytime the newborn spiders are going to attack. Some drastic measures are needed.
I think some parts of this book are stressful or chilling. It seems there’s no hope for humanity.
Some facts about the spiders are already known, and some others are being discovered very slowly, as the fact that they move in the same mechanical way, but nothing is accurate, so the story is very exciting. Also, the new red stripe spiders, all the chaos and the spider’s fast spread without the humans noticing in time are excellent for maintaining the reader’s attention and tension.
Little by little the main characters, Melanie, Mike, Steph Pilgrim, Manny, Shotgun, Gordo, Fred, Amy, the lovable Claymore, among others, are surviving the apocalypse, but much of humanity is already lost…
When the third book is published, I’ll definitely read it.
Without doubt, these books are of my favorites.
