Paul has been obsessed with a story since he was in the university and his thesis advisor, proffesor Rossi, disappeared. All this is related to a mysterious book that only has the image of a dragon. Now, Paul is a diplomatic and he has a daughter.
During one of his multiple trips, his daughter finds many letters written by Rossi, they’re written with fear, where he tells us about the time when he found the book and all the events that had come after the book had fallen into his hands. She asks her father to take her with him to one of his trips because she has interest in the mysterious story. Paul accepts and during the trip, he tells her the story.
In The Historian we will find that Vlad Tepes, Dracula, is involved and the main characters will have to deal with difficult and dangerous situations.
It’s a very well documented novel and it has a lot of suspense making you want to read more and more. It’s a shame that I didn’t enjoy the conclusion of the story, it was a disappointment for me. Nevertheless, during the rest of the story, I learnt a lot about Dracula and about a lot of historical and wonderful places that I want to visit. Also, it talks about superstitions related to Dracula.
It’s worth reading it knowing that, in the end, the story will give an unexpected and curious twist.
