In Czechoslovakia, shortly before World War II, a killer is terrorizing the women, supposedly there’s a connection between the Devil and this killer. Lukas Smolák is the detective in charge of the investigation.
Viktor Kosárek is a young psychiatrist who’s going to work at Hrad Orlu, a mysterious castle built over a Gate to Hell where the Devil lives. The place is a mental hospital where six terrible murderers are kept. They committed their murders saying that they were motivated by the Devil and that the Devil helped them.
Do these murderers have a connection? Is the Devil guiding them? Who’s the women killer? The Devil?
I enjoyed a lot this book. It was exciting and it kept my attention all the time making me want to read without stopping.
I loved the explanation of each murderer’s psychology and the setting was great. In reality, there’s a castle similar to the one in the book. It would be great to visit the place.
I like thrillers and when they talk about diabolic murderers, in this book there are 7, I like them more. Besides, the end could indicate a second part. I don’t know for sure but if a second part is published I’ll read it with pleasure.
This book was a great reading for this month, October, a little bit of horror.
I recommend a lot this book. I think it could be part of my favorites.
