Maggie Knox is the pseudonym of the authors Marissa Stapley and Karma Brown.
This was the last book I read in 2024.
This is a “enemies to lovers” story in which two participants in a singing contest, Sadie and Max, must work together and pretend to be a couple for winning the contest.
They have great chemistry when they’re singing but that’s the only place where they get along well. And the audience loves to see them together.
All this happens in December and there’s a Christmas Gala.
This book was amusing. And I’ve always enjoyed the “enemies to lovers” stories.
Talking about the characters, Max was difficult, egocentric and he liked to be the victim. Sadie wasn’t of my favorite characters but she wasn’t bad either.
Regarding the story, I didn’t like the music environment, a lot of deception and abusive people.
If you’re looking for a romantic novel set in the December Holidays, you can read this one.
